In-person Kick off Meeting of the LiterAGE4All Project at Instituto Politécnico da Guarda (Portugal)

Last 4th and 5th April, consortium members of the “Fostering e-inclusion to improve digital health literacy and healthy ageing in adults 50+” project held an in-person kick off meeting at Instituto Politécnico da Guarda (Portugal).

The LiterAGE4All Project, with reference nr. 2023-1-PT01-KA220-ADU-000165655 within the Call for Cooperation partnerships in adult education, has been granted with 250.000€ and is co-funded by the Erasmus Plus Programme of the European Union.

It aims to improve digital health literacy and promote healthy ageing on adults 50+ through accessible technology that fosters digital inclusion of those people at great risk of exclusion. Two main activities will be implemented: 1) a co-created digital educational program (course and curriculum) to improve digital literacy in health and, 2) a multichannel strategy (e-learning and TV app) to broadness this knowledge. To complement the conventional e-learning platform, an innovative TV app will be developed as alternative to deliver the learning contents to (basic digital skills and digital health literacy) to older adults. A digital health literacy course focused on promoting healthy ageing will be co-developed with adults 50+ and relevant stakeholders. To increase its acceptance and broad dissemination, a multichannel approach is proposed to foster the e-inclusion of older adults lacking digital skills. Thus, an innovative TV app will be designed to engage them on the basic digital skills and digital health literacy courses. In-Person sessions will be conducted to train volunteers on these technologies.

The project partners (Instituto Politécnico da Guarda  from Portugal as project leader, Fundación Centro de Cirugía de Minima Invasion Jesús Usón from Spain, Stiftung Digitale Chancen from Germany, Politechnika Slaska from Poland and Sociedade Portuguesa de Literacia em Saúde from Portugal) were happy to meet and discuss live the project activities during this two-day meeting.

The agenda included overview of the financial and management aspects, the working plan and corresponding work packages, the dissemination activities and the sustainability plan, and finally the role and responsibilities of each partner.
