The inauguration of the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre (JUMISC) reflects the way of thinking of its founder; a ‘saper vedere’ with a great capacity to undertake new professional challenges. Professor Usón is currently focusing on continuing growth and learning, beginning the process by "giving back" to the next generation what has been learned, to ensure that all the acquired skills are transferred, while taking care not to neglect the daily
"As Scientific Director of JUMISC, I am meeting this challenge with a sense of excitement at the idea of the legacy becoming even more brilliant. The current conditions allow for excellent work and continued strategy for the future based on four elements. Thus, we must grow in infrastructure and personnel in the new settings. Secondly, the academic opportunities, but to all intents and purposes, we must be flexible and varied. A third strategic pillar relates to the growing research work with new lines of work in cell therapy, health technology, medical imaging and minimally invasive surgery."
The fourth element is our staff, known for their professionalism, effort, dedication, commitment and affinity with our students and employees and to enable the JUMISC cope with assurances the three previous chapters.
