Microsurgery Room

|
The microsurgery unit’s 154.30 m2 room is equipped with 13 stations to perform microsurgery independently, with separated oxygen points, compressed air and suction. Each seat is equipped with a Zeiss microscope OPMIEN PICO (Karl Zeiss, Germany). In addition we have a central Zeiss OPMIEN MOVENA microscope equipped with a EXWAVE SONY HAD 3CCD video camera and another digital CANON PC 1049 that emits the image to 8 plasma screens of 50.'' The Unit is equipped with instruments for the development of microsurgery; phacoemulsification, corneal topography equipment and all the accessories necessary in the organisation of scientific and educational activities.
This unit has a education system: "Multipost for the teaching of microsurgery", in which digital images of each of the microscopes or workstations are collected (via high-resolution CCD cameras suited to them) on a local TV monitor and another located in a central control desk, where the teacher is, and which allows simultaneous viewing of the whole area, or one to one regardless. The audio system connects the teacher to each workstation via a switch.
This also allows for follow up (and correct if necessary) manoeuvres performed by the students, in real time, watching the image on the same scale as the student in the central control monitor, and being able to communicate with one or all the posts.
In addition, this system allows students to get the attention of the teacher, without moving, through a switch on the desk, which is linked to the teacher’s control desk.
