The Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, (JUMISC), in Cáceres, is an institution dedicated to the training and research of minimally invasive surgical techniques.
The JUMISC organises an extensive program of education and training in various disciplines for resident medical and surgical doctors, nurses, veterinarians, doctors and surgeons and other health professionals
The research that takes place in the JUMISC is aimed at carrying out studies, comparing minimally invasive surgical procedures with traditional surgical techniques, with a special emphasis on applied research

Research Animal Resources (RAR)

The CCMIJU is accredited as "User Establishment of Experimental Animals", No CC-001 by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Extremadura, according to the resolution on February 12, 1998.  Functions  The Research Animal Resources (RAR) is responsible for establishing and maintaining the animal as a user establishment, so as to ensure compliance with current legislation (EU Directive 86/609/EEC of 26 November 1986 and Royal Decree 1201 / 2005, October 10, as legislation baseline) and the standards for the care of laboratory animals and experimentation (Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals) for all training and research activities carried out in the CCIC. In addition, the CCIC adheres to the advice of a Committee of Ethics of Animal Welfare to ensure that the use of animals is carried out according to criteria of conduct and ethics appropriate.  The animal facilities occupy a perimeter of 3,200 m2. This establishment is home to various species of animals such as pigs, sheep, dogs, cats, rats and rabbits.  |
