The Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, (JUMISC), in Cáceres, is an institution dedicated to the training and research of minimally invasive surgical techniques.
The JUMISC organises an extensive program of education and training in various disciplines for resident medical and surgical doctors, nurses, veterinarians, doctors and surgeons and other health professionals
The research that takes place in the JUMISC is aimed at carrying out studies, comparing minimally invasive surgical procedures with traditional surgical techniques, with a special emphasis on applied research

With an area of 20.200m2, the JUMISC, is divided into four distinct areas: a surgical area, administrative, event and conference, and residential area.
The surgical area comprises 10 operating theatres, each equipped with experimental cutting-edge equipment (CT, MRI, integrated operating theatres, etc.), as well as advanced telecommunication systems. In addition there are three laboratories, a Pharmacy Service, an Animalarium of 2.130m2, and two clinical teaching rooms that complement perfectly the upgraded surgical infrastructure, offering the maximun service.
The administration area includes, in addition to the Centre’s staff, meeting rooms and offices for the scientific and business partners involved in the daily activity of the Centre.
Two auditoriums and a third clinical teaching room, technologically equipped and with a total capacity of 470 seats, enabling Congresses, Meetings, seminars, etc. in an ideal setting and ambience. At the same time, the JUMISC offers a residency of 15 double rooms, available to all participating students and staff.
