THE MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY CENTRE

The Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, (JUMISC), in Cáceres, is an institution dedicated to the training and research of minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Training

The JUMISC organises an extensive program of education and training in various disciplines for resident medical and surgical doctors, nurses, veterinarians, doctors and surgeons and other health professionals

Applied research

The research that takes place in the JUMISC is aimed at carrying out studies, comparing minimally invasive surgical procedures with traditional surgical techniques, with a special emphasis on applied research

The Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre Maintenance Service comprises the following functions:

  • Conservation of the infrastructure of the new building and the smooth operation of their facilities: electricity, air-conditioning, plumbing, sanitation, medical gases, and so on.
  • The smooth operation of the audio and video equipment, electro medicine, laboratory equipment, etc..
  • The basic maintenance of equipment and facilities at the centre: preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance.
  • Technical assistance for courses and conferences.
  • Technical assistance in the development of research projects.
  • Monitoring the input of external technicians, to ensure the safety and quality standards are enforced.
  • Management of the saving of electricity, gas and liquid fuels and primary commodities as may be required.
  • Managing the purchase of materials and supplies necessary to carry out the tasks of the Service, to ensure efficient functioning of the entire activity center.
