The Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, (JUMISC), in Cáceres, is an institution dedicated to the training and research of minimally invasive surgical techniques.
The JUMISC organises an extensive program of education and training in various disciplines for resident medical and surgical doctors, nurses, veterinarians, doctors and surgeons and other health professionals
The research that takes place in the JUMISC is aimed at carrying out studies, comparing minimally invasive surgical procedures with traditional surgical techniques, with a special emphasis on applied research

The Endoluminal Therapy and Diagnosis Unit

The Endoluminal Therapy and Diagnosis Unit (ETDU) of JUMISC was founded in 1997, organising training courses for Continuing Medical Education (CME) in experimental, endovascular and endoluminal techniques. Since 1998, on an annual basis, the ETD Unit has organised international hands-on workshops in endoluminal techniques. Similarly, the Unit organises educational activities in neuroradiology, basic training, cardiology, etc. Â PROJECTS Â The research activity is related to the development and implementing new therapeutic options in cardiovascular events (myocardial infarction, aortic aneurysm, etc.), prostate diseases (prostatic hyperplasia) among others. The endoluminal approach is used in research in cell therapy for cardiovascular diseases currently underway. Â |
