The Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre, (JUMISC), in Cáceres, is an institution dedicated to the training and research of minimally invasive surgical techniques.
The JUMISC organises an extensive program of education and training in various disciplines for resident medical and surgical doctors, nurses, veterinarians, doctors and surgeons and other health professionals
The research that takes place in the JUMISC is aimed at carrying out studies, comparing minimally invasive surgical procedures with traditional surgical techniques, with a special emphasis on applied research

Computing Service, Image and Communications

The Computing Service, Image and Communications department of the JUMISC offers support within other activities areas in aspects of computing, new technology information and communications, and everything related to image processing, video and medical illustration.
At present in this service professionals work in various fields: computer dedicated to the design and management of technical infrastructure, the processing of video support material, the establishment and integration of computer-generated images, and virtual simulation, technician communication managing data networks and communications through video conferencing, as well as medical illustrators who are responsible for pictures and graphic design, as well as producing two-dimensional images.
This multidisciplinary makes for the full exploitation of all aspects of infrastructure and development systems available.
